Initiate startup projects with the Tech Startup School

Do you also have ideas, problems or innovation topics that are waiting to be developed? But there is no one in your company who could deal with them intensively? Where to go with it? Ideas are your seeds for the future. Use the Tech Startup School to develop an innovation project into a startup with participation or for intrapreneurship projects.

The Tech Startup School in practice

Take a project idea – this can be a clearly formulated business idea, a problem from everyday working life or a future topic. In 2020, Theben AG took up the future field of “New Work” to initiate the TSUS Startup project “New Work Tools“. Generally speaking, this was about “products & services for new work environments”. A 5-person interdisciplinary team was formed through TSUS. The talents came from all over Germany for the program. Over 10 weeks, interviews were conducted, insights were gathered, possible concepts were tested and a first business model was developed. In March 2021, four members of the project team finally founded the startup “avegoo” – a platform for mobile workplaces. Another example was provided by the company NXG Protein, which rejuvenated itself with the project “Creating value with insects“, investing in a new founding team and business concept. Four interested founders started the business design process together, developed business ideas and ultimately the concept for the startup “Larvest”, which was founded in April 2021 and enables farmers to grow insects professionally.

Briefly summarized

Tech Startup School finds the right high potentials on a project-by-project basis and assembles an interdisciplinary team that complements each other both professionally and personally. In a 10-week business design sprint, we coach the team through the Discover, Design, Validate and Decide phases. During an interim presentation, we make a pit stop, give the idea-providing company insight into the knowledge gained so far and point out possible ways forward. With a selected concept, we then move on to validation. At the final pitch, the team, TSUS and the idea-providing company decide together how to proceed. If a startup is founded, TSUS accompanies the founding process. Our ten TSUS partners – experienced entrepreneurs from Lake Constance, Zollernalbkreis and Stuttgart – act as mentors for the startup. There is also a connection to the local Startup Angels Alb-Bodensee association, which enables investments by business angels.
