During your studies, after graduation or after a few years of professional experience, there is hardly any free time because you have a lot of things to do that have to be done. You are still interested in a startup despite studying, but your time problem has prevented you from doing so. Even if the start-up process “only” took eight weeks, you couldn’t concentrate fully on this topic, because there are just too many other things to do.

However, ten weeks or even 320 working hours offer enormous potential. Imagine what you could implement during this time, which projects could be realized. How is it feasible to develop a viable Business Model within a few Weeks?

At the Tech Startup School you have the opportunity to develop your business model in eight weeks. However, the structure of the eight-week program does not provide for an eight-week full presence. In general, attendance is only required two days a week, so that participants can either pursue their studies three days a week or continue to work on their project. As you can see, it doesn’t even take the full 320 hours.

The key to success is the close exchange between idea generators, start-up consultants and of course the respective participating teams. In addition, several ideas are provided by different companies, so that the participants only work on projects that they find exciting and motivating.

At the beginning of the Tech Startup School, great value is placed on getting to know the other participants and the ideas. In addition to the kick-off event, there is also a multi-day practical program called reallife experience.

The subsequent team building weekend not only strengthens team cohesion, but also reinforces the motivation and skills of each individual. After all, we want the teams to work together in their own company in the long run and not to argue over trifles. In addition to their own strengths, the participants also get to know the strengths of their co-founders and can thus assign tasks to the respective specialists.

The main work, however, still lies in business model development. We work with modern standards such as the Business Model Canvas or Design Thinking, which quickly creates a reliable business model. The prototype is continuously optimized through further project work, online marketing, financial planning and a focus on key resources and key partners.

The basic program is then concluded with the pitch.

Long term is the Basic Idea

We are interested in the established start-ups surviving the market entry and surviving in the long term. For this reason, the teams are then discussed with end-to-end financing so that they can concentrate completely on building up the company at the beginning.

It is clear that it can be extremely exhausting to run a company at the beginning and especially after your studies. Many participants are already finished with their university degree or are already from the professional world, but not all of them and even for graduates and those with professional experience, entry into entrepreneurship is rarely a snap.

We are aware of these challenges and so the young entrepreneurs will continue to be accompanied by start-up consultants and the idea-giving companies in the early days. We want the participants to be successful.

Cost of Building a Start-up despite Studying

The Tech Startup School is and remains free of charge for the participants and the decision whether the business model will be implemented after the pitch is free. We don’t want to force anyone to bind themselves just because they were a participant in the Tech Startup School.

If a company is founded, the relevant share (73%) of the company remains with the participants who implemented the business model. This enables them to act independently in their company. 20% of the shares are given to the idea providers and the remaining seven to the Tech Startup School.

Tech Startup School’s portion will be used to fund marketing, start-up companions, and equipment. The idea behind the Tech Startup School is not to generate sales or profit.
